Ayonic Privacy Policy (Datenschutzerklärung)
Last Updated: 23 March 2026
1. Introduction and Data Controller
Welcome to Ayonic. Protecting your personal data is our highest priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal data when you use the Ayonic platform, mobile applications, and website (the "Platform").
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Data Controller responsible for your personal data is:
Ayonic (Kyaani GmbH) Leipziger Platz 15, 10117 Berlin, Germany.
Contact Email: support@ayonic.com
2. What Personal Data We Collect
Because Ayonic connects Clients (people booking services) with Providers (independent professionals), we collect different information depending on how you use the Platform.
A. Data provided by all Users:
Account Information: First and last name, email address, phone number, and password.
Communication Data: Messages sent through our in-app chat, and emails sent to support@ayonic.com.
Technical & Device Data: IP addresses, device type, operating system, and basic app usage statistics.
B. Additional Data from Clients (Consumers):
Service Details: The physical address where the Task will be performed.
Payment Information: Credit card or payment details (processed securely by our third-party payment provider; Ayonic does not store full credit card numbers).
C. Additional Data from Providers (Taskers):
Verification Data: Copy of your ID card, Gewerbeschein (Trade License), and tax identification numbers.
Payout Information: Bank account details (IBAN/BIC) to process your earnings.
Profile Data: Your profile photo, skills, hourly rates, and reviews left by Clients.
3. Why We Process Your Data and the Legal Basis
Under the GDPR, we only process your data when we have a legal foundation to do so. We use your data for the following purposes:
To Provide the Service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): To create your account, connect Clients with Providers, process payments, and facilitate the actual booking of Tasks.
To Comply with the Law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): To retain invoices, tax documentation, and Gewerbeschein records as required by German commercial and tax law (HGB and AO).
For our Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): To prevent fraud, ensure platform security, verify user identities, and analyze app performance to improve our software.
Based on Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): To send marketing emails or use non-essential tracking cookies (you can withdraw this consent at any time).
4. How We Share Your Data (User-to-User & Third Parties)
As a marketplace, sharing limited data between users is necessary for the Platform to function.
Sharing between Users: When a Client books a Task, we share the Client’s first name and the specific Task address with the confirmed Provider so they can perform the job. We share the Provider's profile, photo, and reviews with the Client so they know who is coming to their location.
Service Providers: We share necessary data with trusted third-party processors who help us run Ayonic (e.g., cloud hosting providers like AWS/Google Cloud, payment processors like Stripe, and SMS/email delivery services). These providers act on our behalf and are bound by strict Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
Legal Authorities: We will disclose data to law enforcement, the Finanzamt (tax office), or other authorities if legally required to do so.
5. International Data Transfers
Our servers are primarily located within the European Union. However, some of our third-party service providers may be based outside the European Economic Area (EEA), such as in the United States. Whenever we transfer data outside the EEA, we ensure it is protected by utilizing standard contractual clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or ensuring the provider is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
6. Data Retention (How Long We Keep It)
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary:
Account Data: Kept for the duration of your active account. If you delete your account, your profile data is deleted within thirty (30) days.
Invoices & Tax Records: German law requires us to keep transaction and billing records for six (6) to ten (10) years.
Support Inquiries: Kept for up to three (3) years after the last interaction to defend against potential legal claims.
Technical Logs: Stored for up to thirty (30) days for security purposes before being deleted or anonymized.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right of Access: To request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Right to Rectification: To correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): To request the deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
Right to Object / Withdraw Consent: To stop us from using your data for marketing, or to withdraw consent for cookies.
Right to Data Portability: To receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, please email us at support@ayonic.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. For Ayonic, this is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as we add new features or as laws change. We will notify you of any material changes via email or an in-app notification before they take effect.
